Before I solidify my storyboard, I need to establish all of my settings/locations. There are three main locations that will be utilized in my film. First is a home location to represent Kylie’s house, second is an outing location for Kylie to be invited too, third is a location to showcase the two girls hanging out after that initial meeting.
There’s only one location that is viable for the home setting, that being my own house. Due to the involvement of my kitty cats and the need for them to be available during home scenes. The cats need to be as comfortable as possible in order for getting the most cooperation possible out of them. Taking them to another location would only unnecessarily stress them out, especially because theres no real issue with filming at my house.
For the outing location, I originally planned for it to be at Main Event or a similar arcade location. The crowded atmosphere and all the sensory around is what I wanted. Unfortunately, its apparently rude to invite a bunch of people to an arcade without actually providing them with the option to play afterwards, and we don’t have that kind of money at the moment. Instead, the idea of going to a mall came up, which I think works just as well. Especially in places like the food court, malls can be very overwhelming as well. A mall is also much larger than an arcade, meaning more possible locations to film at in order to get the perfect shots.
Lastly, I was thinking about making a little montage of footage of Kylie and Charlotte hanging out casually after the first meeting and before the final scene to create some growth between their friendship. I was thinking that this could be done around various locations around my school. With all the different places to record, it can help signal the passage of time. School is also the most common place for people to get to hang out with their friends.
