In order to create my story, I first need to select which traits Id like to focus on as well as how Id like to represent them. While I could base my character purely off my own experiences, id like to have more variety this time, since my character in my past project, Opal, was so strongly based off me.
Now, how to get the necessary information? My friends! Ive decided to create a survey on google docs, that I can then send to my friends for them to fill out. A good amount of my friends have ASD, ADHD, or need to get the DSM-5 pulled on them, which is why they’ll be used to gather data. (With focus on ASD) I selected some of the most common symptoms to create questions and ratings based off them, as well as gave an opportunity to explain anything else they’d like to mention. I chose to include topics such as sensory issues, routines, social situations, expressiveness, academics, and more. In total, there are 26 question for them to fill out, which should give me a lot of information to go by.
With that all done, all that is needed is to send it out! When done collecting all the data, I'll put a link here for you to check out yourself.
